The Central & State Government of India has been delivered the notification for Scholarship for ST Students 2018-19 officially. Candidates who want to complete their higher education with the help of this pleasant amount may fill the online application before the closing date.

This is an awesome news for all those students who wish to study for their bright future. The ST Welfare Society has released an announcement for ST Scholarship Scheme 2018-19 on its official portal. The registration process for Pre-Metric, Post-Metric, Merit Cum Means Scholarship Schemes will soon commence for this opportunity.

The Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for ST students introduced from the academic year 2007-08. Objective of this scheme is to  encourage the meritorious scheduled caste students for pursuing higher studies in such Institutes which are identified by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The ST students will be awarded scholarship covering full tuition fee and other non-refundable dues in respect of Government/Government-funded institutions. However, there will be a ceiling of Rs.2.00 lakh per annum per student for private sector institutions and Rs.3.72 lakhs per annum per student for the private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training. In addition to the above, the scholarship also provides for (i) living expenses @ Rs.2220/- per month per student subject to actuals, (ii) books and stationary @ Rs.3000/- per annum per student and (iii) cost of a latest computer system along with its accessories limited to Rs.45000/- as one time assistance during the course.

Scholarship for ST Students 2018-19 Eligibility Criteria 

  • Scholarship amount will be paid to the students whose family income is under the limit.
  • Students should be from Scheduled Tribe community only.
  • Applicant must be a student of any course in any recognized college/institute.
  • Applicants must bonafide to the India and also have address proof and caste certificate.
